JEANNE FAIRMAN HEAD ESTHETICIAN AT SHIBUI SPA IN SISTERS, OREGON
SISTERS, OREGON – Ask many people to name the largest organ of the body and they’ll likely start mentally calculating the size of the heart compared to the lungs or liver. But few will correctly guess the skin, an organ which in many ways can be an indicator of overall health. To Jeanne Fairman at Five Pine’s Shibui Spa improving the health of a client’s skin is an important service that complements Shibui’s overall health and wellness theme.
Shibui Spa welcomes Fairman as the head esthetician at Shibui, where her focus is helping clients identify their best path to long-term skin health.
Fairman emphasizes. “Taking care of our skin is an ongoing process that doesn’t require great expense. But it’s important to understand your particular skin and develop a consistent regimen with the correct products to maintain healthy skin.”
Fairman says the focus on health and wellness-for guests as well as employees-was what lured her from her thriving practice in Seattle to the Shibui Spa in Sisters. Her clients included some of Seattle’s movers and shakers-among them television news personalities, Hollywood celebrities and families of rock stars. But many were less well-known people who just wanted to have healthier skin.
When Zoe Willitts, Shibui owner, saw Jeanne’s resume she immediately realized her skills could be instrumental in offering skin wellness to their customers.
“Jeanne brings a level of management experience and maturity that is invaluable. She has a caring, individual approach to skin care that recognizes each person has different needs,” says Willitts.
Before training as an esthetician at the Seattle area’s prestigious Euro Institute of Skin Care, Fairman was the food and beverage director for Washington’s renowned Sun Mountain Lodge, a AAA Four Diamond resort in the Methow Valley. Prior to Sun Mountain Lodge, Fairman held a similar management position at Seattle’s Sorrento Hotel, a premier boutique hotel near the city’s downtown core. She joined the Sorrento from George’s at the Cove in La Jolla, CA.
For now Jeanne says that Shibui at Five Pine is the right environment for her. And Central Oregon’s extensive outdoor recreation opportunities are a good fit for this former city girl.
